2030: Rebellion of the Petrolheads

To facilitate the adaptation of self-driving vehicles, the German Bundesrat (Federal Council) passed a resolution in late 2016 to ban vehicles with internal combustion engine by year 2030, which will phase out petrol and diesel vehicles we see on streets today. The disruptions brought by the emergence of self-driving technologies could lead to the annihilation of established automotive cultural scenes. To many petrolheads (car enthusiasts), the ban of petrol engines becomes a great threat to their obsession with automobile, engine sound and power performance.

The proposed carport is hijacked and modified by the petrolheads as their secret sanctuary for worshipping petrol engines and automobile. They rebel against autonomous vehicles and are determined to regain the ownership of automotive culture and vehicles themselves.
